JoJo Recruits Demi Lovato For A Remix of ‘Lonely Hearts’
With new collaborations popping up in every corner of the music landscape, one new addition never did any harm. Joanna Levesque, fondly known as JoJo, is teaming up with Demi Lovato for a remixed version of her track, ‘Lonely Hearts’.
Now, before we dive into the track, we’d like to give you some context. For those of you who aren’t too familiar with JoJo, she’s an American singer-songwriter who’s been in the game for a long time. Her debut single, ‘Leave (Get Out)’ made its landing in 2004. And here’s the kicker: this very tune peaked atop Billboard’s Pop Songs chart, making JoJo the youngest solo artist in history to top the chart at the age of 13. And from then on, she’s carved out a nice space for herself in the pop-R&B scene.
So, coming to the original version of ‘Lonely Hearts’, JoJo’s husky vocals settle over a neat foundation of gentle piano riffs and funky, warped beats. The song makes a fine self-love anthem as it speaks of re-discovering and wholly trusting oneself. Here, take a look at the star’s strong verses:
I’m likin’ bein’ alone
Emotions under control
Right now is only for me (me, me)
Just tryna find myself
I don’t need nobody’s help
Oh, don’t take it personally
I know one thing, lonely hearts won’t break
Now, considering that Demi Lovato has also been putting out a string of self-love anthems like ‘I Love Me‘ and ‘I’m Ready‘, this remix seems to have arrived at the perfect time.
JoJo took to social media to break the news with the cover art for the song, which features both artists sitting side by side. And yes, they certainly look like they can take on the world. Demi Lovato responded to the teaser with a sweet message, gushing over the fact that she’s waited her whole career for the opportunity to sing beside JoJo.
The ‘Lonely Hearts (Remix)’ will make its landing on August 28 and we already have a feeling that this one’s going to really blow up.
