To tide listeners over as they wait for his debut LP, the 21-year-old rising pop artist said that his third EP, ‘Sad Songs in a Hotel Room’, will be released on 23rd September.

‘The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ star revealed ‘Sad Songs’ with a tiny fake-out on his social media sites, posting images of the EP’s cover art, which features Bassett sitting on a disorganised bed in front of faded floral wallpaper, holding a guitar.

The second image posted by Bassett appears to be a gold hotel key. The lead single on the EP, ‘SMOKE SLOW,’ has the title written in white lettering on its keyring. There are blank spaces above and below that for five or six (it’s hard to say for sure) additional unreleased song titles that have been made to appear as though they have been scratched out in the image.

Following Bassett’s self-titled EP from 2021 and the three songs he compiled later that year, ‘Crisis’, ‘Secret’, ‘Set Me Free’, comes ‘Sad Songs in a Hotel Room’. He released the song ‘Doppelgänger’ in February of this year, along with a music video for it.
