Jung Kook To Perform At The 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

Jung Kook from BTS will perform at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony. The seven-piece group tweeted that he will also contribute to the World Cup soundtrack.

“Proud to announce that Jung Kook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack & will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!” BTS wrote on Friday.

The host nation, Qatar plays Ecuador in the tournament’s opening match. 32 teams from various nations, will compete. The winning squad will be proclaimed the World Cup champion.

In recent years, Jung Kook has released a number of solo songs. The solo track ‘My You,’ was given as a gift to the army folowing the release of BTS’ anthology album ‘Proof’. He also collaborated with BTS member Suga earlier this year on the song ‘Stay Alive,’ which was included on the soundtrack for the 7FATES: CHAKHO webtoon. 2020 saw the release of Jung Kook’s debut single, ‘Still With You,’ as a part of BTS’ yearly Festa celebration.

The exciting information follows  BTS’ RM confirming that his debut solo album, ‘Indigo’, will be released soon. The release of RM’s upcoming album comes soon after that of fellow BTS member Jin, whose solo song ‘The Astronaut’ is presently at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.
