Jungkook’s Documentary ‘I Am Still’ Earns $18.5 Million Globally
Jungkook’s documentary I Am Still, which explores the BTS member’s journey as a solo artist, has earned over $18.5 million (£14.6 million) at the global box office. Released in September, the film chronicles an eight-month period following Jungkook’s solo debut, highlighting his creative process, dedication to his craft, and the challenges of being a global pop icon.
Jungkook launched his solo career in July 2023 with the single ‘Seven,’ featuring Latto, followed by ‘3D,’ a collaboration with Jack Harlow, in September. His first solo album, Golden, was released in November 2023, led by the single ‘Standing Next to You,’ shortly before he began his mandatory military service later in the year.

Over 1.3 million people have watched the documentary in theaters, with distributors Trafalgar Releasing noting it as the highest-grossing music cinema event of 2024 and the most successful film by an Asian solo musical artist. During its opening weekend, the film led the box office in Brazil, ranked second in Mexico and Chile, and secured top-ten positions in North America, Germany, Italy, and Malaysia.
In October, a special ‘Party Edition’ featuring an additional 20 minutes of singalong content was introduced, further boosting its popularity. Trafalgar Releasing’s CEO, Marc Allenby, described the film’s success as a reflection of Jungkook’s lasting appeal and his strong bond with fans around the world.
