Justin Bieber to Reportedly Sell His Catalogue For $200 Million!

Justin Bieber is reportedly closing a deal over the rights of his entire back catalogue for $200 million to Hipgnosis Songs Capital. If this goes through, it will be the company’s biggest acquisition so far. Prior to this, the company also recently acquired Justin Timberlake’s discography for just over $100 million. Even though Universal Music Group still owns all of Bieber’s master recordings, Hipgnosis would collect revenue from all of his recorded music and songwriting royalty streams, that is if the deal is closed.

Justin Bieber has not responded to any of the reports yet. A lot of artists have recently started selling the rights to their catalogues. Phil Collins and Genesis have also sold their publishing rights and master recordings earlier this year for $300 million. Apart from them, Pink Floyd were also looking to sell their rights for $400 million. In addition, rapper Nas recently sold the royalty rights to two of his songs as NFTs.

Justin Bieber has made news recently for calling out H&M for using his lyrics and image for promotional purposes. H&M responded by claiming the products were made “out of respect” for Bieber, but they also insisted that they had gone through the necessary procedures to get permission to sell the merchandise.
