Justin Theroux Announces Engagement to Actress Nicole Brydon Bloom

Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom are set to get married!

PEOPLE has confirmed that the couple is engaged. Theroux proposed while they were in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, where he was promoting his film ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’.

Theroux, 53, and Bloom, 30, were first seen together in February 2023 at a Netflix event in New York City. They were accompanied by Tan France and actress Louisa Jacobson, who stars with Bloom on HBO’s ‘The Gilded Age’.

In August 2023, they were spotted sharing a kiss during a date at Manhattan’s Altro Paradiso. A few months later, they were seen leaving a gym together in New York City.

Theroux had previously expressed his preference for keeping his romantic life private during an interview with Esquire, saying he preferred to keep relationships out of the public eye. He mentioned enjoying the privacy of his relationships and keeping them within their personal space.

Before making their red carpet debut together at Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party in March, Theroux attended Bloom’s twin sister’s wedding in December 2023 and later joined her at Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup’s wedding in Mexico City in June 2024. Theroux, who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston from 2015 to 2018, has been featured in Bloom’s social media posts, including a mirror selfie from her sister’s wedding and a photo carousel shared in August 2024.

Recently, Theroux shared a photo on his Instagram Stories of himself hugging and kissing Bloom with an ocean backdrop on August 20. Leading up to the engagement announcement, they had been traveling together, enjoying picturesque waterside spots. Theroux also mentioned to PEOPLE at the Venice Film Festival that they planned to enjoy some vacation time in addition to attending the festival.
