Justin Timberlake on Pharrell’s 50th Birthday: “You’re Just Getting Started”

Justin Timberlake wished his friend and collaborator Pharrell a happy 50th birthday on Instagram. The singer shared multiple photos of the duo together, including a throwback video of them working together on ‘Rock Your Body’ which became an instant hit on the 2003 top five Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“HBD to my brother @pharrell. I’ve been around for almost half of the 50, and I gotta say, you’re just getting started,” Timberlake captioned the post.
Fans were quick to comment on the post and call them a “GOAT duo” and a “legendary combination forever.” Pharrell and Timberlake worked together for the latter’s debut solo album ‘Justified’. They did not pair up for anything after that until 2018 when they collaborated for ‘Man of the Woods’.

“I was not able to work with Pharrell out of a — and I’ve got to say this the right way, ’cause I don’t want to blame anybody for anything, but it did change the course of things for a minute,” Timberlake said in an interview. “Everyone remembers Clipse. Clipse was signed to Jive Records, which I was signed to. I don’t know what went on with their deal, but I do remember that Pharrell was very adamant about getting them out of the deal, so it became, from my understanding; it became challenging for him to work with any Jive artist at that point.”
After having finished their work on ‘Man of the Woods’, they teamed up for a feature of Calvin Harris’ ‘Stay With Me’ along with Halsey.
