K-Pop band SuperM tops Billboard
K-pop’s new ‘Avengers group’ SuperM debuts at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their debut album “SuperM: The 1st Mini Album” which released on October 4th. This group was a collaborative result of SM Entertainment and Capitol Records. They sold 168,000 units within their first week of debut in the U.S.
SuperM was announced on August 7th with the group comprising of members from already well established groups who are a part of SM Entertainment. The act has seven members – SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and NCT’s China-based unit WayV’s Ten and Lucas.
They touted this super group project as “forming an Avengers K-pop group”, leading it to become the most discussed K-pop debut of 2019.
SuperM announced that they will be hitting the road for a North American tour, kicking off November 11th in Fort Worth, Texas with their lead single – “Jopping”
