Katy Perry, Pregnant, Sings ‘Daisies’ For Class of 2020
Appearing angelic, Katy Perry takes the (home) stage to sing ‘Daisies’ and ‘Firework’ for the Class of 2020 who will all be watching from their homes.
The pregnant star who is expecting her first child — a baby girl — with Orlando Bloom has been hard at work since the lockdown due to COVID-19 started on. She has become completely self-sufficient, Katy Perry says, “I’m doing my own hair and makeup, I’m doing my own styling, I’m doing my own ring lighting and other lighting, and doing a lot of the logistics behind the scenes. All the asks are still there, and you usually go and fulfill them at the places, but now they’re just on your turf. Which is great, because this is my choice, to release a record rather than delay it.”
Katy Perry put up this master production where the stage was the top of a graduation flat hat and she was adorned in a baby-bump-hugging white full length dress and the hair and make-up looking very Marilyn-Monroe-esque. She had previously posted a complete look of the stage and the dress on her Instagram prior to her performance on YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020. The event was more than 4 hours long and saw the biggest of stars and celebrities offering their thoughts and hopes int heir commencement speeches for the outgoing class of 2020. The event was virtual due to the novel Coronavirus.
In her Instagram post she congratulated the class of 2020 in the caption. Katy Perry said, “#DearClassof2020, I hope in the midst of all that is happening in the world, you can take a moment to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating. You are the future, and I know you will take everything you’ve learned to make the world a better place. Never let em change you ?,”
