Katy Perry Is Freezing Her Social Media Accounts

Katy Perry took to her social media to announce that she will be off social media, specifically, Instagram and Facebook on September 16, 2020. The move has come forward as a fight against racism.

Katy Perry has joined The Stop Hate for Profit coalition and the supporters of the same to stop racism. They have called for Instagram and the parent company, Facebook to take action against hate, violence and disinformation on these platforms.

The ‘Daisy‘ singer took to her Instagram to quote the author, George Orwell and also expressed her thoughts. Though the post speaks for itself, Katy Perry declares her stand, loud and clear with the caption.

The singer said, “I love sharing my music and my life with you on Instagram and Facebook, but TBH I can’t sit idly by while these platforms turn a blind eye to groups and posts spreading hateful disinformation and intentional confusion,”

What is #StopHateForProfit?

The #StopHateForProfit is trending on social media for the right reasons. The coalition is of nine civil rights and advocacy organisations who are demanding a change in the system. Due to the hashtag and people participating in it, Instagram and Facebook should freeze the accounts for a day. And, obviously, we love Katy Perry for wanting to bring about a change.

Lately, Katy Perry has been doing a lot for society. The moment she delivered her baby girl, she let UNICEF announce the birth. Why? Well, the reason is just heart touching.

Due to lack of health care facilities especially during the pandemic, pregnant women face trouble. For making the pregnancy smoother for these women, the singer opened up a donation page via UNICEF.

We will miss all the activities of Katy Perry on her social media, but if it’s for such a good cause, why support you, girl.
