Katy Perry Spills the Tea on A Song for Her Daughter
Katy Perry has got a new favourite pastime: leaving behind a trail of hints about her upcoming album, ‘KP5’. Nope, we ain’t kidding. In a recent interview, the star dished out that she’s got a sweet little tune dedicated to her unborn child.
“There is a song on the record called ‘What Makes a Woman,'” Perry said. “That is a hope I have for my future child, is that she doesn’t have any limits on any of her dreams, or what she wants to be, or who she thinks she is. And, you know, she can change whenever she wants. She doesn’t have to…she can try everything on if she wants; figure out what fits. And so I think that song is important to me and important for her.”
Katy Perry vs. The Industry
On multiple occasions, Katy has opened up about the struggles of making it big in the industry, where everyone’s snapping at your heels. In fact, even in her latest single, ‘Daisies’, she discusses how difficult it was for her to achieve her dreams, especially because people were also constantly judging and undermining every step she took.
We’ve picked out just four lines from the song, just to jog your memory.
They said I’m going nowhere
Tried to count me out
Took those sticks and stones
Showed ’em I could build a house
So, it’s entirely understandable that Katy wants to shield her daughter from this or at the very least, provide a stronger support system for her.
Anyway, coming back to ‘KP5’, so far we know that both ‘Daisies’ and ‘What Makes a Woman’ have found a cozy spot on the album.
And yet, here’s the kicker: Katy’s string of hints did not end with this.
She also spilled the tea on another new song called ‘Teary Eyes.’
And a little before all this, Katy even took to Instagram to share, what appears to be lyrics to an upcoming track. Here, take a look-
We haven’t found where this piece fits in the puzzle, but perhaps we can trust Katy Perry to simply lead the way.
