Katy’s fans finally unveiled what appears to be the cover art of her upcoming record. It features Katy Perry looking rather glum, donning a bright red nose along with a blue and cream checkered dress, holding a gigantic bow. Above the picture, the text reads, ‘Smile’.

So, What Does Katy Perry Bring to the Table with this Title Track?

And voila, there’s the album’s title! The title track of this album, shares the same name and was unveiled not long after. The tune is peppy and light. Katy’s vocals slide over a thumping baseline, making ‘Smile’ quite the groovy number. The lyrics are sweet, uplifting and reassuring – Katy Perry has found her smile again.

Every day, Groundhog Day
Goin’ through motions felt so fake
Not myself, not my best
Felt like I failed the test

I’m so thankful
Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful
Now you see me shine from a mile
Finally got back that smile (Smile)

This tune finds a comfortable spot next to some of the other tracks Perry has released like, ‘Never Worn White,’ ‘Daisies‘ and the yet to be heard ‘Teary Eyes’ and ‘What Makes a Woman’.

Speaking of this track, Katy Perry had this to say: “I wrote the title track from the album when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life and had lost my smile. This whole album is my journey towards the light – with stories of resilience, hope, and love.”

Well, stories of hope and perseverance are the need of the hour right now, so we can’t wait to stumble upon more gems from this album.
