Keanu Reeves Talks ‘John Wick 5’ And Whether It’s Happening

Keanu Reeves discussed the potential for a ‘John Wick 5’ in an interview with CBS News while promoting ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’. His knees are telling him, “I can’t do another John Wick,” even if his heart is still in it, he revealed. He went on to say that while he can’t rule out the possibility entirely, he’s not sure if his body is ready for another movie in the franchise right now.

Reeves will play John Wick again in the planned spin-off ‘Ballerina’, starring Ana de Armas, despite his hesitancy about ‘John Wick 5’. After the television series ‘The Continental’, ‘Ballerina’ is the first full-length movie to be set in the ‘John Wick’ universe. In this movie, de Armas portrays Eve Macarro, a former dancer who becomes an assassin in an attempt to exact revenge on those responsible for her family’s deaths. Although his exact role is yet unknown, John Wick will appear in the movie, which is set after the events of ‘John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum’.

The fifth film in the ‘John Wick’ franchise, ‘Ballerina’ will be the first since 2023’s ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. Jesse Hassenger awarded ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ a four-star review, praising the film’s skill at fusing style, choreography, and action. He said that even though the picture was long, it provided a satisfying sense of closure, leaving viewers hopeful for a potential Chapter 5.

Aside from the ‘John Wick’ series, Reeves is still working, on providing the voice of Shadow in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’. With the confirmed release of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4’ in the spring of 2027, the Sonic franchise is also growing.
