Kelly Clarkson And Sam Smith's 'Breakaway' Kellyoke Duet Was a Hit

Kelly Clarkson has guests on her eponymous talk show on a regular basis, but another guest joining her for the show's opening Kellyoke bit is unusual. The former Voice coach sang a duet of her Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit ‘Breakaway’ with fellow pop hitmaker Sam Smith on an episode of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'.

Clarkson sang the higher portion of the duet, while Smith sang the lower part. The title track and first single from Clarkson's 2004 album, 'Breakaway,' was a hit for the American Idol alum, peaking at No. 6 on the Hot 100. The song was on the charts for a total of 46 weeks.
