Kelly Clarkson Covers Tracy Chapman Hit Song
As if we needed another reason to love Kelly Clarkson. She has done it again! Kelly Clarkson gave us a powerful performance of Tracy Chapman’s hit song on her show, on January 19th.
The song ‘Give me one reason’ was Tracy Chapman’s 1995 hit single and also part of her “New Beginning” album, released the same year.
One Reason Is All It Takes
The American Idol winner performed the cover on her daytime talk show, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’. The cover featured the popstar herself along with her band Y’all. The flashing red lights, the amazing vocal runs and the overall power packed performance wowed Kelly’s fans.
This is not the first time the pop icon has covered this song. Kelly performed a soulful cover of “Give Me One Reason” for SiriusXM’s Hits 1 & The Pulse in March 2015.

Tracy Chapman’s song ‘Give Me One Reason’ was featured on 1995 album, and it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 the following year. The singer-songwriter earned four 1997 Grammy nominations for her song, and won the award for best rock song.

Kelly will be releasing her new song ‘I Would’ve Loved You’ on January 27th. The song is a collaboration between the singer and Jake Hoot, winner of NBC’s The Voice, 17th season. Clarkson tweeted the announcement with a teaser of the video.
Kelly Clarkson has also performed ‘Give me one reason’ in various venues over the years. She also teamed up with another American Idol favourite, Chris Daughtry, to cover another one of Chapman’s Grammy-winning tunes, “Fast Car.”
