Kelsea Ballerini Reveals She Doesn't Watch Boyfriend Chase Stokes on ‘Outer Banks’

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are supportive of each other, even from a distance.

In a recent TikTok video, the 31-year-old singer humorously showcased her limited knowledge of ‘Outer Banks’ by using a filter that required her to rank characters in a random order. While promoting the release of the show's fourth season, Ballerini admitted that she doesn't actually watch the series, which stars her boyfriend, Stokes, 32. She captioned the video, "What I do know… the new season is 🤌."

When commenters pointed out that she ranked her favourite characters based on her familiarity with the actors rather than their roles, Ballerini responded, "HAHAHA I DID MY BEST GO STREAM OUTER BANKS."

Using the TikTok filter, she had to rank characters from the show from one to ten. When she had filled all but the first and seventh spots, she faced a dilemma. "So I'm holding the number one space, obviously, for obvious reasons," she said, indicating her boyfriend deserved the top spot. However, she felt that Jonathan Daviss didn’t deserve the seventh spot, stating, "The ranking is not serving me here." Ultimately, she placed Daviss as number one, leaving Stokes at seven, but still showered him with compliments when his image appeared. "The bandana, the face. The... the him. Ugh, we stan!" she exclaimed.

Concluding the sweet video, Ballerini remarked, "Well, I failed miserably at this but I am so excited for everyone and happy season 4."

Ballerini and Stokes began dating nearly two years ago when the country artist slid into his DMs. She shared the details of their first interaction on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast in February 2023, shortly after confirming she was single again. "I was ready to open back up," she said, referencing her previous divorce from ex-husband Morgan Evans. "I just felt, why not? I've never really dated; I don't know how it works. I'm like, 'Let's just put ourselves out there; let's just vibe.' And it's been fun."

Not wanting to use a dating app, she opted to message Stokes directly on Instagram, leading to their relationship. "I've never seen his show, but I just knew of him, and I just swan dove right on in," Ballerini explained.

When Cooper asked about her initial message, the "Yeah Boy" singer revealed, "His handle is '@hichasestokes,' and I said, 'Hi, Chase Stokes.'"
