Kelsea Ballerini is stepping into the spotlight with her acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new medical drama, ‘Doctor Odyssey’. Embracing the unknown, the country singer sees this opportunity as a natural progression in her life, aligning with her personal motto to “run toward the things that scare you.” In a candid conversation for Women’s Health, she opened up about her nerves, confessing, “What if I suck on TV?”
Ballerini reassured herself with a light-hearted approach, stating, “Then you know what I do? I’ll put on my glitter and go back on stage. That’s always going to be my home base.”

At the Los Angeles premiere, she expressed feeling “timid” about her new role, acknowledging that it was her “first time ever trying the acting hat on.” She was eager to learn and asked plenty of questions, hoping to do justice to both her character and the show.
Having the support of her boyfriend, ‘Outer Banks’ star Chase Stokes, provided additional comfort. Ballerini referred to acting as “his world” and leaned on him for advice throughout the process.
She said, “Whenever I was asking him questions about this opportunity, I was like, ‘What about this in your world?'” Stokes reassured her, explaining that while he is part of that world, she is now part of it too.
Their collaboration didn’t end there; Ballerini sought Stokes’ help in rehearsing scenes. “By the end of the conversation, I was like, ‘OK, so you’ll run the scene with me?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.'” With this newfound confidence and support, Ballerini is ready to showcase her talent in a whole new light.
