Speculation is growing that Kendrick Lamar may have additional music on the horizon, following comments from DJ Hed and others. The buzz comes after the unexpected release of GNX on November 22, Lamar's first album under his pgLang label and the successor to his Grammy-winning Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers.
The album, featuring collaborations with SZA and production from Jack Antonoff, Kamasi Washington, Mustard, Terrace Martin, and Sounwave, made a powerful debut. GNX opened at Number One on the Billboard 200, selling 291,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This achievement marked Lamar’s fifth consecutive chart-topping album and the best-selling rap release of the year, surpassing Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) and Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You. Lamar also contributed to the latter album with the track ‘Like That,’ which played a significant role in his high-profile feud with Drake earlier this year.
Hints about more music began with rapper Gunplay, who appeared on the viral track ‘TV Off.’ He suggested that Lamar might have unreleased material ready, mentioning the possibility of a deluxe edition of GNX and describing Lamar as “very secretive.”

DJ Hed fuelled further speculation during an Instagram Live session with Ab-Soul, a close friend and former labelmate of Lamar. Hed acknowledged Lamar’s recent accomplishments and hinted at more projects in the works, stopping short of revealing details but suggesting that the rapper isn’t finished yet.
The album has also made waves online. ‘TV Off,’ in particular, has sparked a social media trend, with Lamar’s shoutout to producer Mustard during a beat change becoming a popular soundbite for viral videos.
Lamar has remained in the spotlight beyond GNX's release. His track ‘Not Like Us,’ originally a diss aimed at Drake, unexpectedly became an anthem for the West Coast and secured Lamar his fourth Number One single in the US. Meanwhile, Drake has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, accusing the label of inflating the song’s streaming numbers and allowing the release of what he claims is a defamatory track.
Additionally, Lamar’s recently released music video for ‘Squabble Up’ included nods to The Roots, prompting a public thank-you from Questlove. As Kendrick Lamar’s influence continues to dominate, fans are eagerly speculating about his next moves.
