Kesha Drops “High Road”
Kesha shared a new music video for the title track of her latest album “High Road”. Directed by Magic Seed, the video follows Kesha through a psychedelic trip through an abandoned graffiti covered castle. Presented in a VHS form, the video revolves around footage of the singer bouncing along multi-colored sand dunes while interacting with scorpions, chickens and even bobcats! She later descends into a Kesha-styled party where she has the time of her life, hanging out in ball pits with cotton candy.
The title track is one of the most memorable songs on the album. Kesha’s sing-spell words that are spelt incorrectly-making it all too relatable! The chorus is an unexpected mature declaration of acceptance and freedom.
High Road album features collaborations with Big Freedia, Brian Wilson, Sturgill Simpson, Dan Reynolds and more. She also released the singles “My own Dance”, “raising Hell”, “Resentment” and “Tonight”. Her new album picks up at the lighter end of her 2017 album “Rainbow”.
While “Rainbow” was an ode to her five year long hiatus surrounding harassment, “High Road” is a reminder to let loose and get away from your troubles sometimes. Not to say that she has reverted back to the reckless party person she was with “Tick Tock”, but she adopts a new persona that is of a mature person who knows to let loose occasionally.
From April 23rd, Kesha is set to embark on a North American Tour that will begin at the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land, Texas and conclude on June 5th in Ontario. This gives you enough time to get your dancing shoes and body glitter!
