Khalid, Victoria Monet Serve Up a Special “Experience”

Musicians Khalid, Victoria Monet and SG Lewis have released their new track, “Experience“, and it celebrates love and pride in the company of a slick groove. 

The track, which was announced earlier in the week, was released earlier today. In their announcement prior to the release, Khalid and Victoria Monet shared a statement about the context of the song. In an Instagram post, Monet wrote: “We wanted to honour and represent that fearless part of our people by continuing with this release through it all.” The post is situated in the current demonstrations and protests taking place in the US. 

As the Black Lives Matter continues in full swing, “Experience”, comes as the perfect reminder to celebrate black pride, excellence and equality. The track is a slick r&b track that lends itself to a touch of bedroom pop. Khalid and Victoria Monet, unsurprisingly, compliment each other’s vocal efforts.

Monet who has been a songwriter for pop heavyweights like Normani and Ariana Grande brings fresh persective to the pop music landscape. Khalid, who hasn’t seen a dull day since the time of his breakout single, “Location”, lends his soothing vocals to this track, adding a sparkle to the bass-heavy groove. 

Fans have reacted positively, as expected, commending Monet and Khalid for their efforts.
