Kim Kardashian Honors Princess Diana by Wearing Historic Attallah Cross Pendant at LA Event

Kim Kardashian demonstrated her extraordinary ability to revive old jewels at the LACMA Art+Film Gala. The magnificent amethyst cross pendant, which was once worn by Princess Diana, was the main attraction, even though the reality TV star wore a sophisticated white gown with a plunging neckline. Kardashian bought the pendant, which comprises round-cut diamonds and square-cut amethysts, for almost $200,000 at the 2023 Sotheby’s annual Royal & Noble auction.

Kardashian wore her hair in a stylish haircut with flipped ends to go with her outfit, which included a cream cloak draped over her arms. Kardashian’s appearance at the gala, which honoured filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and artist Simone Leigh, was particularly noteworthy. Princess Diana famously wore an amethyst cross to a charity event for Birthright in London in 1987. She paired it with a purple Victorian velvet gown by Catherine Walker that complimented the pendant’s colours, giving the cross a distinct position in history.

Kardashian made an appearance after dressing up as an albino alligator for Halloween, complete with green contacts and prosthetics made by artist Alexis Stone. Stone highlighted the painstaking effort required by calling the costume construction a “mammoth task.” The Kardashian-Jenner family is renowned for their imaginative Halloween costumes; Kendall teamed up with Hailey Bieber to mimic Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie from ‘The Simple Life’, while Kylie channelled Jane Fonda from Barbarella.
