Kim Petras Teases a New Collaboration ‘Alone’ With Nicki Minaj

Kim Petras is officially teaming up with Nicki Minaj for her upcoming single ‘Alone’.
She posted a video on social media to announce the surprise collaboration, captioning it, “‘Alone’ feat. @nickiminaj out 4/21” on Instagram. The video features Petras sitting in an opulent room which is filled with art and a blazing fireplace. She has a baby pink rotary phone on a shiny oak table in front of her.
The phone rings in the video and when Petras picks up the phone, it’s none other than Minaj’s voice. It says, “Yeah! It’s Barbie and it’s Kim Petras!” over a sample of Alice Deejay’s ‘Better Off Alone’ before she lets out her signature “Woo-ah!”
‘Alone’ will add to her string of singles which includes the Max Martin-produced ‘If Jesus Was a Rockstar’ and ‘Brr’. She also performed ‘Brr’ at Billboard Women in Music before she accepted the year’s Chartbreaker Award. In the acceptance speech she called for bodily autonomy and true equality for women.
“Women in pop music were my only friends in high school,” she said. “They were everything I wanted to be and [gave me] the strength I [needed] to transition and live my life authentically. They gave me the strength to be myself.”
Petras’ collaboration with Sam Smith, ‘Unholy’ surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. This happened right after she earned her very first Grammy for best pop duo/group performance.
