Kris Jenner ‘Not Happy’ About Khloé Kardashian Being in Therapy

When Khloé Kardashian revealed to Kourtney Kardashian during the most recent episode of ‘The Kardashians’ that their mother wasn’t happy about her decision to seek therapy, she casually mentioned Kris’s disapproval while creating vision boards for Khloé’s upcoming 40th birthday. Astonished by her mother’s response, Kourtney noted that Kris would probably benefit from therapy herself. In a confessional, Kourtney speculated that their mother’s reaction might be related to how therapy affected their own relationship, recalling how her dynamic with Kris changed when she first began therapy, raising the possibility that Kris Jenner is concerned about experiencing a similar change with Khloé.
Both Khloé’s sister Kim Kardashian and close friend Malika Haqq supported her decision to seek treatment because they thought it would help. Kim even asked Khloé to travel with her. Kris, however, recalled how Khloé took on the role of caregiver for her younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and appeared to link Khloé’s difficulties to complex PTSD. As a child, Kylie even admitted that Khloé was like a second mother to her.

Khloé was, as Kourtney noted, “parentified” at an early age—a phrase used to characterize children who assume adult responsibilities too soon. Khloé acknowledged that she has always been a caregiver and frequently puts the needs of others before her own. According to her therapist, she probably picked up this habit since she was rewarded for acting like an adult while taking care of her siblings.
Khloé acknowledged that she had not attended therapy in a few weeks, even though she was aware of these patterns. Her therapist questioned her dedication and assured her that she would find time for the things that were really important. Khloé joked that she felt compelled to go to her sessions, admitting that she would eventually come back because she was a people-pleaser.
