Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande Are Grooving on Chromatica

rain on me

Not long after Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga’s collaborative track ‘Rain on Me’ dropped, it’s music video arrived. And boy, did it arrive with a bang.

Under stormy purpling skies, the pair find their footing on this odd new planet: Chromatica. Gaga dons a neon pink bodysuit, that looks as though it’s melting in the rain, while Grande shows off a black metallic miniskirt with butterfly wings. Yep, it’s all sorts of bizarre. The pair take the stage in a stadium reminiscent of something out of Blade Runner 2049. To be honest, from the vastness, to the oddly colored skies – the entire music video looks like a scene out of Blade Runner. Oh and did we mention that it rains daggers on Chromatica? But for these freaky, fearless ladies, it’s a walk in the park. After all, it is Gaga’s planet.

It’s also worth mentioning that the choreography is absolutely stunning. It’s energetic and wild, similar to what we witnessed in Gaga’s previous single, ‘Stupid Love’. Now, this tune’s going to feature on her upcoming album, ‘Chromatica’ and might we also remind you that she still has two other collabs left to unveil: Elton John and BLACKPINK.

Over the course of creating this track, it looks like Ariana and Gaga have developed a close bond, which is lovely to see. In fact, the pair have been quite active on social media, gushing about each other in lieu of this comeback.

Lady Gaga tweeted about her difficulties and how Ariana’s always been there to remind her that she’s not alone. “One time I felt like I was crying so much it would never stop. Instead of fighting it, I thought bring it on, I can do hard things. @arianagrande I love you for your strength and friendship. Let’s show them what we’ve got.

If we’re gonna cry we’re gonna cry together, but we’re gonna dance while we do it.” BOOM. Mic drop.

These past few weeks have seen some very powerful women dominating the charts, from Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat to Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion, this kingdom is theirs now. And it won’t be long before our ‘Rain on Me’ stars join them. So, here’s to more powerful collabs with some of the strongest women in the industry!
