On 3rd September Lady Gaga dropped her brand new remix album Dawn of Chromatica. The album featuring revamped versions of the songs off her 2020 Billboard 200 no.1 album, was confirmed by Gaga in mid August when she told her fans on Twitter that the album “is so f—ing fuego,” before she officially unveiled its release date on 30th August.

The new project, produced by Gaga’s Chromatica collaborator BloodPop, features a bevy of artists offering their own versions of tracks such as “Rain on Me,” “Stupid Love” and many more. Among the artists included are Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Arca, Pabllo Vittar, Ashnikko, Shygirl, Dorian Electra, LSDXOXO, Bree Runway, A.G. Cook and more.

According to Billboard reports, rumors about the remix of Mother Monster’s dance-heavy 2020 sixth studio album began circulating in April, when frequent collaborator producer Bloodpop teased that Gaga had something cooking adding to this more rumors surrounding Dawn of Chromatica started swirling when BloodPop teasingly asked fans who they would want included on the album. “In theory – which artists would y’all want to see on a Chromatica remix album (and on what song),” Bloodpop tweeted, followed by a series of emojis. Minutes later, the producer followed up his tweet by potentially teasing one such artist who might make the cut, writing “CC @rinasawayama.” Sawayama, for her part, took a screenshot of the exchange and posted it on her Twitter, tagging Bloodpop and adding a smirking emoji.

The Grammy-nominated Chromatica featured the singles “Stupid Love” and the Ariana Grande collab “Rain On Me,” as well as “911” and “Free Woman.”

Dawn of Chromatica isn’t the only Lady Gaga album that fans can look forward to in 2021. Earlier in August, Mother Monster announced that she and Tony Bennett would be reuniting with another album of jazz standards, this time paying tribute to Cole Porter, titled Love for Sale, due out Oct. 1, 2021. The pair shared their first single off the album, “I Get A Kick Out of You,” alongside the announcement on Aug. 3.
