Lady Gaga’s Song ‘Bloody Mary’ Goes Viral After ‘Wednesday’ TikTok Dance Trend

One of Lady Gaga’s 2011 ‘Born This Way’ deep cuts, ‘Bloody Mary,’ has recently gone viral thanks to a new TikTok trend in which users recreated the iconic dance scene by Wednesday Addams from the OTT series ‘Wednesday’, which stars Jenna Ortega in the title role.
The trend was also noticed by Lady Gaga herself, as she tweeted, “Slay Wednesday!”
‘Wednesday’ is executive produced and mostly directed by Tim Burton. After the series premiered in November, videos highlighting Ortega’s instantly endearing portrayal of the gothic adolescent character began to go viral online, notably one in which she demonstrates her unique boogying technique during a school dance.
The dance was actually choreographed by Jenna herself, who later admitted on Twitter that she had drawn inspiration from a variety of artists and old videos of goths having a good time in dance clubs in the 1980s. Although ‘Goo Goo Muck’ by The Cramps was the song that the dance sequence in ‘Wednesday’ was actually set to, TikTok users began editing the scene to feature ‘Bloody Mary’ by Gaga.

From then, a new fad began to take off: people started uploading videos of themselves performing Wednesday’s peculiar dance routine while singing ‘Bloody Mary.’ Some of them donned black clothing and styled their hair to resemble Ortega’s school dance outfit in ‘Wednesday’.
