Lana Del Rey Unveils New Album ‘The Right Person Will Stay’

Lana Del Rey has unveiled details of her upcoming album, The Right Person Will Stay. The 10th studio album, which follows her 2023 release Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, is set to drop on May 21, 2025. The announcement was made through her Instagram at 9 PM UK time on Monday, November 25.

Earlier, Del Rey had mentioned that the album would explore country music, with contributions from longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff and country artist Luke Laird. While the album was initially titled Lasso, it has now been renamed to reflect a shift in direction. In her post, Del Rey also teased that the lead single would be a track named Henry.

In her Instagram message, Del Rey expressed her appreciation for the creative collaboration, highlighting how the album’s 13 tracks came together with the help of Antonoff, Laird, Drew Erickson, and others. She also revealed that fans could expect to hear some of the songs, beginning with Henry, ahead of her performance at the Stagecoach festival.

Earlier this year, Del Rey shared in an interview that the album’s lyrics may be more lighthearted compared to some of her recent works, such as Tunnel, Blue Bannisters, and Chemtrails Over the Country Club. She hinted that the sound could take inspiration from the “American Songbook,” focusing more on melody than deeply personal storytelling.

The album’s release has been a topic of speculation, as Del Rey had originally planned for a 2024 release. In an interview with People in October, she explained the delay, describing a rare “energetic pause” in her creative process. She noted that she wanted to wait and observe the musical climate before finalizing the album.

Along with the album announcement, Del Rey revealed her first-ever UK and Ireland stadium tour, set for summer 2025. The tour will begin at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on June 23 and will make stops in Glasgow, Liverpool, and Dublin, with the final show taking place at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3.
