Lee’s the Name of the Day

Born on 27th November in 1940 was someone who would be forever remembered. We’re talking about the martial arts guru who stole our hearts in his short life- span of 32 years- Bruce Lee!

Lee Jun-fan, professionally known as Bruce Lee, was a Chinese-American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor and philosopher. The legend, who accomplished all of this within 32 years of his life, unfortunately passed away due to a brain aneurysm on 20th July in 1973, in Honk Kong.

Today would have marked his 79th birthday and even though Lee is no longer with us, we are still celebrating his incredible, admirable life. So here is a list of some Bruce Lee flicks that are a must watch!

Big Boss
First up we have ‘The Bigg Boss’ that was released on 3rd October 1971. Directed by Lo Wei, this mystery is action packed and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat while the story unfolds.

Fist of Fury
Next up we have our personal favourite Fist of Fury, released on 22nd March 1972, and another one directed by Lo Wei. This movie tests family virtues, promises, control and the fighting for justice. This movie is full of moves that showcase Lee’s intrinsic knowledge in the art of fighting.

Way of the Dragon
Third on the list is Way of the Dragon that was written and directed by yours truly, Mr. Lee. In this movie you see how the protagonist works to keep his family safe and in the end, that is all that matters. Like the others, this one also sees a whole array of martial art that is bound to leave you stunned.

Enter the Dragon
At number four we have Enter the Dragon, which was released on 26th July 1973, six days after Lee’s passing. In the movie, Shaolin meets British Intelligence in a suspenseful, jaw-dropping, crime related mystery. As usual, the star is seen performing his killer moves with so much skill that it borders on the unreal.

Game of Death
The last movie on this list, of course, is Game of Death. Released on 23rd March 1978, this film was in the making when Lee suddenly passed away. It was written and directed by the legend himself along with Robert Clouse. Around 100 minutes of the movie had been shot before his untimely passing and some of it was misplaced in the Golden Harvest archives. This movie is incomplete, but still totally worth the watch. You can see how hardworking and passionate Bruce Lee was even in his last days.
