Linkin Park’s ‘From Zero’ Tops Charts in 10 Countries

Linkin Park’s comeback album, From Zero, has debuted at Number One in the charts of 10 countries. Released earlier this month, it marks the band’s first album since the tragic passing of frontman Chester Bennington and introduces Emily Armstrong as their new vocalist.

Before the album’s release, the band teased fans with several singles, including Heavy is The Crown, The Emptiness Machine, Over Each Other, and Casualty. They also performed live shows to showcase the new material.

Reflecting on the updated line-up, Mike Shinoda described the band’s new dynamic as the best they’ve had, while also addressing mixed reactions from fans regarding Bennington’s replacement. Shinoda emphasized that the change was “not about erasing the past.”

Since its debut, From Zero has claimed the Number One spot on the UK Albums Chart, along with leading positions in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Australia, and New Zealand.

In the United States, Linkin Park’s From Zero narrowly missed claiming the Number One spot, debuting at Number Two. The chart-topping position went instead to K-pop group Ateez with their album Golden Hour: Part.2, which was released on the same day.

For the band, the album’s success was a significant milestone, especially for new vocalist Emily Armstrong. It marked her first chart-topping record. In a video alongside Mike Shinoda, she expressed her gratitude, calling the achievement “insane” and “surreal,” and adding that it was her first time reaching Number One.

Shinoda also reflected on the accomplishment, noting that it had been a long time since the band last topped the charts and describing the moment as a significant milestone for all members.

The album, From Zero, was described as a creative reset for Linkin Park, its title paying tribute to their original name, Xero. Critics noted that while comparisons to the band’s iconic discography were inevitable, the project stemmed from an organic desire by Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn, and Shinoda to create together again. One review highlighted the elite moments of the album, despite its imperfections, and emphasized that the global rock scene is enriched by Linkin Park’s presence.

In addition to the album’s release, the band announced a major world tour for 2025, which will include a performance at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.
