Guinness World Records recently announced Lisa’s record for having the most followers on Instagram as a K-pop artist. She has a total of 87 million followers according to the organization. Blackpink’s shared Instagram account also has over 52 million followers. Apart from the K-pop music industry, it isn’t unlikely for musicians to garner a large following, for instance Selena Gomez has 372 Million followers, Ariana Grande has 351 Million followers and Beyoncé has 291 Million followers. This achievement for Lisa is one of the three records she broke in 2022 according to Guinness World Records.

She became the first female solo artist to win the Best K-pop at MTV Video Music Awards, and she also was announced as the first solo Best K-pop winner at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards. The band also has the most subscribers for a band on YouTube and their 2020 single ‘How You Like That’ held the title of the most viewed video on YouTube within 24 hours. This changed when BTS released ‘Dynamite’ and broke their record.

This year, Blackpink is going to set yet another record as the first K-pop group to headline Coachella. The band will be performing in April with Frank Ocean and Bad Bunny, who are also a part of the line-up.
