2023's Open'er Festival in Poland will feature performances by Lizzo and Queens of The Stone Age.
Lizzo will perform live for the first time in Poland on the festival's opening night, while Queens of The Stone Age will perform on the closing night. OneRepublic, Nothing But Thieves and Arctic Monkeys have already been added to the line-up for Open'er, which will take place in Gdynia on Poland's northern shore.
Queens of the Stone Age have been gradually divulging details of their 2023 tour; in addition to Open'er, they will also perform at the Southside and Hurricane Festivals in Germany. The band hasn't performed the headlining show since 2018, and ‘restrictions and logistics' forced them to cancel headline performances at Reading & Leeds and Spain's Mad Cool in 2021.
Lizzo recently finished her North American tour in support of her new album ‘Special'. On the final night of the tour at LA's Kia Forum, she invited Missy Elliott and Cardi B to sing 'Tempo' and 'Rumors,' respectively. Soon after, a second North American leg scheduled for the following spring was announced. Next year, she will also tour the UK and Europe with Joy Crookes as support.
'Love Lizzo', a documentary about Lizzo's life and journey to popularity, recently made its debut. She admits that she didn't feel confident enough to play songs on stage in front of a large crowd as shown in the footage of the singer in her formative years.
In the initial trailer, she said that her career “came very close to not being a thing,” as it is later revealed that she felt like giving up several times, and door after door was slammed in her face.
“Nobody was trying to sign a fat black girl that rapped and sang and played the flute.”
