Never doubt Lizzo’s devotion to Beyoncé as a superfan. Lizzo demonstrated a flawless rendition of the viral dance that Blue Ivy occasionally performs with Bey during ‘My Power’ while performing at the ‘Renaissance’ Tour concert in Poland.
In a video captured by a pal and shared on Lizzo’s TikTok account, Lizzo created an impromptu dance floor behind a sea of Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy stadium patrons who were facing away to hear Queen Bey perform. When the ‘Break My Soul’ performer got to the section of ‘My Power’ where her daughter would periodically take the stage and execute the choreography with the backup dancers, Lizzo started recreating the choreography, nailing every move.
Lizzo is the only person who recreated the dance at a Renaissance Tour concert. Millions of people have viewed videos of TikTok creators such as JoJo Siwa, performing the choreography, as well as videos of Blue Ivy performing with her mother at recent concerts in Paris, London and other locations.
Lizzo also uploaded a vlog of her day in Poland on TikTok, in which she talked about getting ready, her clothing and the Beyoncé merchandise she purchased at the concert. In a touching video from the event posted to Instagram, she sobs as Bey shouts the names of Lizzo and 27 other groundbreaking black women musicians while playing ‘Break My Soul (The Queens Remix).’
“In that moment I was thinking about baby me, listening to Happy Face by destiny’s child and crying myself to sleep because of bullies… I thought about Beyoncé jumping into the room where Tina Turner was waiting to meet her for the first time,” she stated in the post’s caption. “I think of what we all mean to people and how cyclical it is. We are all so infinitesimally and maximally connected and significant. It’s a privilege. Thank You @beyonce.”
