Lizzo Reveals The Whole Track List For Her Upcoming Album ‘Special’

Prior to its scheduled release next week, Lizzo has made the tracklist for her upcoming fourth album ‘Special’ public.

The album will include Lizzo’s most recent single, ‘Grrrls,’ which was released last month, as was anticipated (and was subsequently altered to remove an ableist lyric). Additionally, it will include April’s ‘About Damn Time,’ although the tracklist does not include ‘Rumors,’ Lizzo and Cardi B’s August 2021 collaboration.

There will be 12 tracks on the whole album, one of which is reportedly named after Coldplay. Similar to Lizzo’s most recent album, ‘Cuz I Love You’ from 2019, ‘Special’ will feature a title track. It will also feature the song ‘Everybody’s Gay,’ which appears to highlight her sizable queer fan base.

‘Special’ will be released on 15th July, through Nice Life and Atlantic. Lizzo described the album as “one of [her] most musically badass, daring and sophisticated bodies of work” earlier this year, adding that she was “shocked” to learn that it evolved into what she refers to as a ‘love album’.

A new HBO documentary with no title yet will likewise focus on the life of the artist. Doug Pray, the executive producer of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine’s 2018 docuseries ‘The Defiant Ones’ will be directing it. It will provide fans with an intimate glimpse into the moments that shaped Lizzo’s hard-earned journey to fame, success, love and international acclaim.

In the meantime, Lizzo has revealed the dates for her upcoming September North American arena tour.

It was revealed last month that she had teamed up with Live Nation to contribute $1 million (£815,000) of the tour’s proceeds to groups that provide women with safe access to abortions. The announcement was made in response to Roe v. Wade, the 1973 legal decision that legalised abortion on a federal level, being officially overturned.
