Lorde Covered Rosalía’s ‘HENTAI’ During Her New York Gig

On 18th April, Lorde performed a version of Rosalía‘s song ‘HENTAI’ in New York City. The New Zealand singer is now on the North American leg of her ‘Solar Power’ global tour, which is in support of her third studio album of the same name, which was released in 2021.

Lorde performed a cover of Rosalía‘s ‘HENTAI’ at Radio City Music Hall in New York, which is featured on the latter’s new album ‘Motomami.’

Rosalía responded to the cover by posting a video of Lorde performing ‘HENTAI’ on her Instagram Stories on 19th April and writing, “Lorde que bonita” [how beautiful].

Last month, Lorde disclosed in her newsletter to followers that she had been listening to ‘Motomami’ on repeat since its March release.

“I’ve listened to the Rosalía album every day since it came out, f**k, it’s so good,” she wrote. “I gagged when I heard that interpolation of ‘Archangel’, ‘Hentai’ is genius, ‘Sakura’…

“Projects like this remind me why I live for pop music — at its best, there’s nothing better.”

Lorde’s ‘Solar Power’ tour will be in the United Kingdom and Ireland in May and June.  This summer, she’ll also appear at the Glastonbury Festival. Rosalía, meanwhile, released the specifics of her ‘Motomami World Tour’, which includes a December performance at London’s O2.
