EA’s quirky and dark fantasy series Lost in Random is making a comeback, and the next entry, The Eternal Die, is set to launch directly onto Xbox Game Pass on June 17. That means subscribers can dive into the new title as soon as it releases—at no extra cost.
Unlike the original game from 2021, which mixed action-adventure and light RPG elements, The Eternal Die takes a different route by adding roguelite gameplay mechanics into the formula. According to game director Martin Storm, this genre blend fits well with the game’s unpredictable, dice-themed world.
The release date was revealed in a recent trailer, confirming that Lost in Random: The Eternal Die will be available across Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Though the game wasn’t part of the hands-on previews at Xbox’s large showcase during Gamescom 2024, its Game Pass debut was officially confirmed during the event’s livestream.

A Familiar World, A New Perspective
Players familiar with the first game can expect some big surprises this time around—most notably in the lead character. Instead of following sisters Odd and Even again, players will take control of Aleksandra, the villainous Queen of Random from the previous story. Elsie Lovelock returns to voice the Queen, and narrative designer Oskar Hanska describes this installment as a companion story rather than a direct sequel.
Dice-based combat is still at the heart of the experience, but the roguelite structure brings a new layer of replayability and unpredictability to the gameplay.
A Strong Year for Day-One Game Pass Launches
So far, 2025 has delivered an impressive list of day-one releases on Game Pass, including titles like Avowed, South of Midnight, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Blue Prince. Lost in Random: The Eternal Die will join this growing lineup, with more than 20 additional games scheduled to hit the service by the end of the year.
