The previous night on 10th August in New York City, Madonna hosted a roller disco in honour of her new compilation album, ‘Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones’.
The record was celebrated at DiscOasis Central Park in New York City, and will be released on 19th August. Madonna and Nile Rogers met at the event and talked about the time they spent composing ‘Like A Virgin’.
At the event, Questlove served as a DJ, playing Madonna tunes alongside disco classics all night long while fans skated and danced in Central Park.
A new compilation honouring the singer’s record 50 number-one hits on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart was first unveiled by Madonna back in May.
In February 2020, Madonna’s song ‘I Don’t Search I Find,’ which was included on her ‘Madame X’ album, became the artist’s 50th No. 1 dance club song in the US.
A press release said: “In addition to fan favourites, the collection also includes a selection of rare remix recordings, with more than 20 being officially released for the first time or making their commercial/digital debut.”
On 19th August, a 3-CD edition and a digital version of the compilation will both be accessible. Pre-orders for the limited-edition, 6-LP version on red and black vinyl have already sold out. On the same day, the 16-track edition of ‘Finally Enough Love’ will also be made physically accessible.
According to a press release, Madonna’s 40 years in music are still being celebrated. The statement adds, “Expect more surprises to be revealed later this year.”
