Mariah Carey Calls Collaborating With Ariana Grande on ‘Yes, And?’ an ‘Amazing’ Experience
Recently, Mariah Carey expressed her joy in working with Ariana Grande, calling the encounter a “dream come true.” The two musicians, who previously collaborated on the 2020 Christmas single ‘Oh Santa!,’ got back together earlier this year for the official remix of ‘Yes, And?’ that was included on Carey’s album ‘Eternal Sunshine’ deluxe edition.
Carey stated that Grande contacted her regarding the remix, and since they had previously developed a working relationship, she viewed it as an enjoyable opportunity. The cooperation was enjoyable since she praised Grande, describing her as both highly accomplished and a truly kind person.
With lyrics like “Be your own best friend,” Grande conveys a strong message of self-empowerment in the remix, and the two musicians elevate the song’s subject by vocally supporting one another the entire time. Carey joins Grande on the pre-chorus and chorus, contributing her distinctive whistle notes to the house-inspired groove. She also excels in her solo verse, which highlights strength and independence while showing her famous vocal range.

A lighthearted video of Grande wearing a polka-dot dress and Carey blowing her whistle note before the two embrace warmly was posted on social media to commemorate the release. In the caption, Grande praised Carey, and in the comments, Carey returned the favour by praising Grande for the partnership.
Their collaboration gives the song a new, empowering twist while showcasing the respect that two powerful voices have for one another.
