Mariah Carey Rings In The Festive Season

Christmas time and Mariah Carey go hand in hand. And with the change in weather arrives a switch to a new festive playlist, one where the top spot is always reserved for the star’s smash hit, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

While Christmas Eve is still a good few weeks away, that hasn’t stopped this buzzing hit from seeing a massive surge in streaming numbers.

So far, the track has raked in a whopping 1.14 million on-demand streams in the U.S. across November 1st and 2nd. In fact, Mariah began picking up some mind-boggling streaming numbers from late October itself, before shooting to 940,000 streams on November 1st.

Now, just to fill you in on the endless success following the track, with an estimated sales of over 16 million copies, it remains the best selling Christmas single by a female artist and one of the best-selling singles of all time. In fact, just last year, in 2019, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time, 25 years after its original release, thus breaking several records, including the longest trip to number one.
