Martin Scorsese Praises ‘Nosferatu’ and Robert Eggers: ‘Anything He Does Is Amazing’

Martin Scorsese has praised Robert Eggers and his adaptation of the iconic horror movie ‘Nosferatu’.

Starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Emma Corrin, the picture was released earlier this month and is a recreation of the 1922 silent film based on Bram Stoker's ‘Dracula’.

In a recent interview with Dave Karger of TCM, Scorsese discussed his feelings on the movie and described it as an amazing experience. "It is so immersive that after watching, one still feels transported to the eerie world of Transylvania," he said in his admiration of Eggers' work.

In addition to receiving praise from critics, the movie was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Cinematography.

Eggers has been confirmed to write and direct the follow-up to the fantasy classic ‘Labyrinth’, in addition to ‘Nosferatu’. Chris Columbus, the director of ‘Home Alone’, and his daughter Eleanor will produce the project. Executive producers will include Lisa and Brian Henson, who are the offspring of Jim Henson, the inventor of ‘Muppets’ and the late director of ‘Labyrinth’. Although Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie starred in the first movie, it is unknown if Connelly will return.

In the meantime, Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are getting ready for their upcoming project. The two are about to start filming a long-awaited project that they have been working on for years: an adaptation of Erik Larson's best-selling novel ‘The Devil in the White City’. The narrative centres on builder Daniel Burnham and America's first modern serial killer, Dr. H.H. Holmes, whose crimes occurred during the same time period and are set in Chicago during the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.
