Recently, Matthew Macfadyen revealed that he had visual problems whilst filming one of the most famous scenes from the 2005 movie ‘Pride & Prejudice’. ‘The Succession’ star revealed that he was too far away from the camera to see clearly during the iconic, lengthy trek across the field during Holland's appearance on the SXSW red carpet. Due to his poor sight, he had trouble seeing director Joe Wright, who was guiding him by waving a bright red object in the distance. At the moment, Macfadyen acknowledged that he was only able to concentrate on this challenge.
In November 2005, Joe Wright's acclaimed ‘Pride & Prejudice’ adaptation made its debut. Macfadyen played the sullen Mr. Darcy, and Keira Knightley played the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Rosamund Pike, Jena Malone, Dame Judi Dench, Carey Mulligan, Talulah Riley, Rupert Friend, Brenda Blethyn, and the late Donald Sutherland were among the film's outstanding cast members. It became a timeless favorite among aficionados of period romance and went on to earn over $120 million worldwide.

The movie is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the BBC's 1995 ‘Pride & Prejudice’ miniseries, starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The esteemed work by Jane Austen is commemorating its 212th anniversary.
Macfadyen considered the film's enduring appeal, pointing out that even after twenty years, viewers are still enthralled with it. He quipped that being recognized after all these years makes him feel like he's not aging too much and finds it pleasant when people still recognize him as Mr. Darcy.
