Megan Thee Stallion Made an Unexpected Academy Awards Appearance for ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’

Megan Thee Stallion made an unexpected appearance on 27th March at the Oscars to assist with the performance of ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno.’

The song was given an airplay at the occasion despite not being nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s Hollywood awards show. It came after Sebastián Yatra’s performance of the film’s nominated song ‘Dos Oruguitas.’

Members of the Encanto cast sang ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno,’ including Adassa (Dolores), Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel), Mauro Castillo (Felix), Carolina Gaitan (Pepa), and Diane Guerrero (Isabela). Megan, Luis Fonsi, and Becky G joined the actors on stage to add their vocals and some Oscars-themed phrases to the song, while Sheila E played drums.

“Stars everywhere, I need to see Oscars / Zendaya over there,” Megan rapped at one point. “Oh no, we got three hosts / These women are the best / They killing all the jokes.”

Megan, Fonsi, G, and E were among a long list of Oscars performers, which included Beyoncé, who opened the show with a rendition of King Richard’s “Be Alive,” and Billie Eilish and Finneas, who sang their Bond theme song “No Time To Die.”

Reba McEntire also performed her contribution to the Four Good Days, ‘Somehow You Know,’ which was penned by Diane Warren. Ariana DeBose of West Side Story, Questlove for Summer Of Soul, The Long Goodbye, and others received awards at the Oscars. Troy Kotsur of CODA is also the first deaf male actor to receive an Academy Award.
