Melanie C Has Begun Work on Her Ninth Solo Album

Melanie C has announced that she has started work on her ninth solo record, which is the follow-up to her self-titled 2020 album.

Mel Chisolm claimed in an interview that progress on the record is sluggish because she has been focusing on writing and publicising her memoir, ‘Who I Am’, which was released earlier this month.

She added that the album had to take a bit of a backseat because writing and promoting the book had been a lot more work than she imagined. However, Mel C has completed several sessions, there are some fresh tunes and she has started working on the next album.

According to Mel C, the cycle of writing, recording, marketing and touring was prevalent in the past. Technology has advanced to the point where it seems possible to multitask right now. Her passion is music. The book project has been enjoyable for her, but if it keeps her from music for too long, she might get resentful of it.

After being previewed with tracks like the Nadia Rose-assisted ‘Fearless’, the singer’s latest album, ‘Melanie C,’ was released in October 2020.
