Mikey Madison Lands First Role After Surprise Oscar Win

After her Best Actress Oscar win for ‘Anora,’  Mikey Madison is starting her next big role, which is already making waves. According to a few media reports, the actress will co-star with Kirsten Dunst in Alejandro Landes Echavarría's dark thriller ‘Reptilia’.

 The film, which was written by Duke Merriman and Landes Echavarría, centres on a dental hygienist who is drawn into the frightening world of Florida's exotic animal trade after being tempted by a mysterious mermaid.  ‘Reptilia’ looks to be a daring next step for Mikey Madison, who made an impression in ‘Scream 5’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, with its bizarre plot and eerie motifs.

Many were taken aback by Mikey Madison's Oscar victory for ‘Anora’ because Demi Moore was largely seen as the front-runner for her role in ‘The Substance’.  Moore thanked her staff, supporters, and fellow candidates on Instagram the day after the Oscars, sharing touching behind-the-scenes photos.  She also nodded politely to Mikey Madison, thanking her and expressing her excitement for the growing star's next move.

 Meanwhile, Kirsten Dunst has finished a powerful performance as a dedicated war photographer in the A24 movie ‘Civil War.’ Speaking about the part, Dunst said she was initially anxious about not seeming credible on television, but she made sure her performance seemed genuine by keeping a camera with her at all times.
