Miley Cyrus Debuts New Song ‘You’ During New Year’s Eve Concert

Miley Cyrus kickstarted the new year with a new banger which has not been recorded yet. The Plastic Hearts artist debuted her new single “You” on live television during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, performing onstage from Miami on 31st December , where she hosted the NBC special alongside Pete Davidson.

Cyrus finished her 8 track set with the new track, a slow piano-driven ballad that reflects the artist’s soulful vocals, along with an infectious chorus.

“I got some baggage/ Let’s do some damage/ I am not made for no horsey and carriage/ You know I’m savage/ You’re looking past it/ I want that late night sweet magic/ That forever lasting love/ But only if it’s with you.”

Miley was clad in a plunging V-neck red minidress with a sheer floor-length skirt and a pink feathered boa. The performance concluded with a matching red fireworks display lighting up the sky above the outdoor stage.

The pop star also performed a number of hits from her own catalogue as well as a few covers. The gig included stunning performances from 24kGoldn, Jack Harlow, Saweetie, Anitta, Brandi Carlile, Kitty Ca$h and Cyrus’ younger sister Noah.

The two-time Grammy Award nominee, 29, performed covers of Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass’ and Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ – the latter of which she performed with sister Noah. She also performed a parody of Will Smith‘s ‘Miami’ alongside the concert’s co-host Pete Davidson.

Miley suffered a wardrobe malfunction early in the show, when her top slipped off while singing her 2009 bop “Party in the U.S.A.” During the NBC broadcast, Cyrus was seen holding onto her silver halter top. After turning her back to the camera and covering her chest with her hands, Cyrus made her way backstage and changed into a red overcoat.

“Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus said, emphasizing the lyric while singing. “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage,” she added between lyrics.

“Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us,” Cyrus told the audience at the end of the show.

“We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity. I wish everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all that I needed to have the ultimate party,” Cyrus added.
