Miley Cyrus Stuns with Her Cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘My Future’

High off her stunning performance of ‘Midnight Sky‘ at the MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus has already cooked up yet another treat for fans to feast on. The young star just covered Billie Eilish’s latest release, ‘My Future’.

Donning a dark, sparkly dress and dangling silver jewellry, Miley took her spot before the mic. Her rendition of Billie’s ‘My Future’ arrived with a familiar sense of melancholia seen in the original cut of the track. But Miley’s version also witnessed a slower tempo and a soothing drawl, inevitably turning the track into a ripe, jazzy-rock masterpiece.

The former Disney star also got a chance to show off her husky runs and pretty melodies when she crooned,

Can’t you hear me?
I’m not comin’ home
Do you understand?
I’ve changed my plans’

Cause I, I’m in love
With my future
Can’t wait to meet her
And I, I’m in love
But not with anybody else
Just wanna get to know myself

Interestingly, ‘My Future’ echoes a similar sentiment seen in ‘Midnight Sky’. Billie talks of enjoying some time to herself and using it as a space to grow and rediscover herself. In Miley’s track, we also see her refusing to be tied down by anyone, instead choosing to spend more time learning about herself and reveling in every decision she’s made. These themes of self-love and acceptance have been mirrored in a lot of fresh tunes this year and considering the difficult climate – a sense of comfort is the need of the hour right now.

In other news, Miley will also be taking the iHeartRadio stage on September 19th. And if we’re lucky, she might just bring out that disco-wrecking ball for another run.
