Miley Cyrus To Host NBC’s New Year’s Eve Special For The Second Time

According to Deadline, the ‘Midnight Sky’ singer will return to NBC on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2023 as the host of the second edition of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which was announced during NBC’s Upfronts presentation on 16th May.

Cyrus was joined by co-host Pete Davidson for the 2021-22 special, though it is unclear whether the Saturday Night Live comic will return for this year’s event. Lorne Michaels, the creator of Saturday Night Live, executive produced the event, which featured performances by Noah Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Saweetie, Anitta, Jack Harlow, 24kGoldn, Kitty Ca$h and others.

Michaels will also produce this year’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza, but the performer line-up for 2022-23 has yet to be revealed.

From 11:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party drew 6.3 million viewers, according to Variety. The party drew 5.8 million viewers for its entire runtime, which began at 10:30 p.m., a 1.9 key demo rating and a 1.5 in adults 18-34. On Twitter, Miley Cyrus’ event was the most popular among NYE specials.

Cyrus had a busy year in 2022, as she recently released the deluxe version of her live album ‘Attention’, which includes six new songs: ‘WTF Do I Know,’ a mash-up of ‘Mother’s Daughter’ and ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ featuring Anitta, ‘You,’ ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart,’ Plastic Hearts highlight ‘Angels Like You,’ and 2008 Breakout-era single ‘Fly on the Wall’.
