Miley Cyrus’ New Single ‘Flowers’ is All About Self Love

2023 has been a great year for Miley Cyrus so far! After a successful New Year’s bash in Miami, she has now released a new single ‘Flowers’ from her upcoming album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’. Even though Miley has not confirmed who the song is about, fans believe the inspiration is her breakup with Liam Hemsworth. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were married for about half a year and the separation definitely impacted her a lot. What adds fuel to the fire is the fact that the song was released on Hemsworth’s 33rd birthday.  The singer also references the house the couple shared, which burnt down in 2018. She sings, “We were good, we were gold / Kind of dream that can’t be sold / We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.” The song talks about Miley learning to love herself better than any man did. The catchy chorus is all about self love: “I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”

‘Endless Summer Vacation’ will be released on March. Miley Cyrus made this announcement about the record recently and called it the follow-up to 2020's ‘Plastic Hearts’. She describes the album as her “love letter to LA” which she feels is  “very personal”. Cyrus is currently at her “strongest and most confident”, with both the music and its visuals reflecting “the strength she’s found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being”.
