Millie Bobby Brown Misses ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ Broadway Debut

Recently, ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ debuted on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in New York, bringing the spooky world of Hawkins, Indiana, to the stage.  Despite the enthusiasm and the fact that many of the stars of the original series attended the opening night, one prominent figure was absent: Millie Bobby Brown.

Although Brown has been portraying Eleven since the show’s 2016 launch, she did not go to the premiere.  At the age of 21, she is presently working on ‘Enola Holmes 3’, her next major project.  After the popularity of the first two films, this is her third time playing the shrewd younger sister of Sherlock Holmes.

There were many familiar faces from the universe on the red carpet, even though Brown wasn’t there.  After a successful run on London’s West End, the prequel production moved to Broadway, and cast members came out in favour of it.

Another original cast member of ‘Stranger Things’, Sadie Sink, was also unable to attend the formal opening.  But the night before, while taking a break from her role in ‘John Proctor Is the Villain’, she did see a preview performance at the Booth Theatre across the street.

In the meantime, Brown has been occupied with a busy schedule.  She was recently seen in several projects, including ‘Damsel’ and ‘The Electric State’ in addition to ‘Enola Holmes’.

Returning to Broadway, ‘The First Shadow’ explores the beginnings of Hawkins in 1959, concentrating on younger iterations of Bob Newby, Joyce Maldonado, Jim Hopper, and Henry Creel, who fans call Vecna.  The play was co-written by Kate Trefry and other ‘Stranger Things’ series writers, who were able to incorporate its plot into the larger plot of the fifth season of the show, which is now in production.
