Sam Worthington, The Kid Laroi and Miranda Kerr are all set to receive honours for excellence in their respective fields on the 20th anniversary of the G’Day USA Arts Gala in 2023. This is a US-based program that aims to showcase Australia’s leading entrepreneurs. Along with this, the event also raises donations for the Art Funds for the American Australian Association, that provides scholarships to creatives from America and Australia who wish to study artisan crafts in the said countries.
Kerr, who is a supermodel and a businesswoman, will be honoured with Excellence in the Arts for her extensive accolades in the fashion and beauty industries. She was the first ever Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2007, and founded KORA Organics, a skincare line, in 2009. Sam Worthington is set to receive the honour of Excellence in Film and Television. He has been previously recognized and appreciated for his role in ‘Avatar’, and the upcoming sequel, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water.’
Charlton Howard will be honored for his Excellence in Music. The Australian singer-songwriter, who is famously known by his stage name, The Kid Laroi, received a Grammy nomination for his collaborative track ‘Stay’ that he created with Justin Bieber. The song remained on the No. 1 spot on Apple Music’s top 100 global songs for 51 consecutive days in 2021. He also won the ARIA music award for the Best Pop Release for his song ‘Thousand Miles’ earlier this year.
The event is also set to feature a performance from Delta Goodrem as a tribute to Olivia Newton-John, who passed away in August of 2022. Delta Goodrem, who is a singer, will make this dedication because she was a constant supporter of the G’Day USA events. The G’day USA Arts Gala in 2023 is scheduled to take place in 28th January, and will be filled with some great performances.
