Miranda Lambert Pauses Mid-Way During a Gig to Address Fans Taking Selfies

During her ongoing ‘Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency’, country artist Miranda Lambert encountered a situation that highlighted her belief in the importance of focusing on music.

While performing her 2018 ACM Song of the Year winner, ‘Tin Man’, Lambert noticed some women near the stage who appeared more interested in taking selfies than listening to her music. This incident underscored Lambert’s perspective that the primary emphasis should be on the songs themselves rather than distractions like social media.

“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert told the audience assembled at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino at Zappos Theater. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a bit. Sorry, I don’t like it at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country d–n music.”

Expressing her frustration, Lambert firmly asserted her commitment to delivering genuine country music and emphasized her desire for the audience to focus on the music rather than distractions such as selfies.

Responding to the distraction caused by the girls taking selfies, Miranda Lambert gestured for them to put their phones away and asked the crowd, “Shall we start again?”  In response, the audience cheered with enthusiasm. Lambert restarted the song, creating a fresh and focused atmosphere where everyone could fully enjoy the music.

Before embarking on her Las Vegas residency in September 2022, she said, “When you’ve been touring as long as I have, there’s something really creative about imagining a residency in a city like Las Vegas. I’ve had a lot of fun designing our sets, merchandise and clothing and boot lines – and even my place on Broadway in Nashville, Casa Rosa – so, this opportunity allows me to lean in a bit more into that side of myself and think about how to really bring country music to life in this room. I think everyone will like what we’ve dreamed up. I’m really excited about this!”

This residency allowed her to delve deeper into her creative side and contemplate innovative ways to bring country music to life within the venue. Lambert expressed confidence that the audience would appreciate the imaginative ideas they had developed, emphasizing her genuine enthusiasm for the endeavour.

Alongside her Las Vegas residency, Miranda Lambert has recently released her debut cookbook, titled ‘Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen’. This cookbook showcases Lambert’s culinary skills and offers a taste of her unique style.
